My name is Colleen Clark-Sutton, and I am running this fall for the open seat on the Lakewood Board of Education. I have been an active supporter of our school for more than 20 years, and now I would like to take a leadership role in helping to maintain the excellent school system that is the backbone of our terrific community.

I have lived in Lakewood for 33 years. When my then fiancé and I looked for a place to live we chose Lakewood for its walkability and excellent schools. When our first child was ready for kindergarten, we stayed in Lakewood for the excellent schools, the increasing diversity of our neighbors, the parks and pools, and the city services. We stayed in Lakewood through both daughters’ graduations for the caring and creative teachers, the rich and rigorous curriculum, the city services, and the continued diversity of the City and School District leadership. We are staying in Lakewood because this continues to be a vibrant and supportive community.
